CHA National Monthly Book Club

We understand being a full time carer can often be a very lonely journey. The National Book Club was created to combat that feeling of being isolated and alone by getting together for some light hearted fun, information sharing, peer connection and have lots of laughs along the way.

And sometimes we read books too!

📚 How This Book Club Works 💛

It is a gentle, drop-in book club for Families Living with Complex Illness.

It is designed to be flexible, low-pressure and supportive of real life — and especially hospital life.

A few things to know:

• You are welcome whether you read all, some, or none of the book.
• Joining Zoom is optional every month — come when you can.
• Camera on or off is completely fine.
• Arriving late or leaving early is always okay.
• Listening quietly also counts as participating.
• It’s okay not to love the book — we’re here for connection, not perfection.

We usually:
– Vote on a book each month
– Share reminders mid-month
– Meet once on Zoom for about 45 minutes

This isn’t counselling or formal supports — it’s simply a space to connect over a story, have a breather, and talk about something outside our day-to-day responsibilities.

Most importantly:
You never have to explain your absence, your energy levels, or your reading progress.

We’re just glad you’re here whenever you’re here 🤍
